Since ancient times, tea picked on the 88th night (88 days after the beginning of spring) has been treasured as a lucky charm for eternal youth and longevity. The tea is fertilized with a lot of organic matter such as fish meal and oil cake, and is given a sufficient amount of liquid fertilizer that is highly absorbed by the roots. Before harvesting, the tea is grown under cover, and then processed into products by adjusting the steaming, rolling, and drying while manually assessing the condition of the green leaves, the weather, and the temperature at our own factory. "Gabaron Tea" is a rare tea that enhances GABA
This green tea processing method was developed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries' (now the Independent Administrative Institution, Vegetable and Tea Research Institute), and involves placing freshly picked leaves in a vacuum to increase the content of GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) when processed into green tea. Production is very low in Japan, and this factory is the first in Kumamoto Prefecture.
The store owner, who originally suffered from high blood pressure, made a small amount of the product for himself every year, and as he saw results he decided to commercialize it.

The world's first new black tea, "Gabaron Black Tea"
GABALON Black Tea is a completely new domestic black tea developed, manufactured, and sold by the Yamaga City Tea Industry Promotion Association in Kumamoto Prefecture, with the aim of creating a unique product in Yamaga. It was jointly developed by three tea shops in Yamaga City, with the desire to create a specialty product from Yamaga, the birthplace of domestic black tea.
It is rich in GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), and research results have shown that it has blood pressure lowering effects, improves blood flow to the brain and internal organs, has a diuretic effect, and has a tranquilizing effect. This is a tea product that contains no additives.

In 1875, the government established Japan's first black tea training school in Yamaga.
Since then, tea has been produced in large quantities and even exported to Europe.
However, tea production gradually declined and ceased in the 1960s.
Then, in the 21st century, Yamaga City began producing "reproduction black tea" that faithfully reproduced the manufacturing methods of the time.
It is made using the Benifuuki black tea variety harvested in Yamaga City, and has the mild, mellow flavor that is unique to domestically produced black tea.
